Suggestions for Better Submissions

  1. Start the Project Early

    2. Designing and using Revit can definitely take time. We recommend watching the kickoff and reading through the design brief as early as possible to understand the requirements and ask any initial questions. This will give you a head start so that modeling can run more smoothly.

  2. ACC Link

    3. Make sure to upload your project into your ACC folder, and then following the instructions to create a project link to include in your Notion submission. Once pasted, make sure to test your link to make sure it works.

  3. Blank Sheets

    4. Make sure to only include sheets in your project that have specific views required/you want to show. Delete any blank sheets.

  4. Required Views

    5. Including required views in your project are essential to communicating design intent. Check to make sure you have all of the required views on sheets per the design brief. If there is any confusion, reach out to the Teaching Team to clarify.

  5. Total Square Footage

    6. The area requirements in the design briefs are to limit the scope of the project and direct you to focus on quality, not quantity of your projects. This is not a hard cutoff, but make sure to stay within +/- 5% of the Area Requirement on the design brief.

  6. Formatting Views

    7. Cramming too many views onto one sheet can be confusing for communicating design intent. Check back to Module 1 videos (1.4.A specifically) for a refresher. As a general note, it is best practice to separate out plans and elevations.
