I added bridges to Level 1 and 3 that connect the two buildings together. The key feature of the new building is a central atrium that extends from the student gallery space on Level 1 all the way to the glass pyramid on the roof. All levels have corridor and seating areas that are open to the central atrium. The classroom at the end of the old wing was demolished and replaced with a cafe area to facilitate the construction of the bridge. One of the options presented to the owner was to replace the rooftop terrace with a standard roof layout similar to that of the old wing for uniformity purposes. The other was the choice of whether to include seating in the central student gallery or to replace it with an indoor garden space with potted plants and other floral displays to accentuate any current exhibits.
