Like a building has walls and an outer structure, many mammals have skin and fur to protect them from weather and other outside threats. The skeletal system of these animals are analogous to the beams and columns of a building, which help keep the building standing. Finally, many mammals regulate their body temperature through their respiratory system (e.g. panting), just like a vent system is used to circulate hot or cold air in a building to keep the temperature stable.
