The graph allows for customization of the frame structure including the:

  • Building Base Length
  • Building Base Width
  • Frame Spacing
    • Option 1: Number of Frames to Create
    • Option 2: Maximum Spacing Between the Frames
  • Purlin Spacing
  • Right and Left Column Heights
  • Top Offsets for the slanted columns
  • Gable offset
  • Horizontal Gable offset

The graph then creates the line and point model and utilizes Karamba3D nodes to create the beam model, assign and colorize different cross-sections, and visualize the model in the Rhino workspace. The Karamba3D node is also used to assign support conditions in case a designer would like to assign loads and run the analysis of the model.

The figures below have the same input number of frames, spacing, roof bays for purlin spacing, etc. The only differences are the unique properties to each roof type.
