Description
This two story addition encompasses the sleek style of the pre-existing structure, while also bringing in modern additions to best serve the student population. On the first story, there are numerous areas for students to congregate in private study spaces, a relaxed lounge-like space with plush couches and a TV, and a creative maker's space housing 3D printers and other tools. On the second story, there is a spacious café and dining area that opens into the expansive balcony, as well as a gallery to display student work. And on both floors, one will find a multi-stall wheel-chair accessible bathroom and a combined printing and photocopying room. Within this structure, there are two distinct design options: one with few walls encouraging an open environment, and one with many walls, creating distinct spaces for work and play. Thus, the client can determine which style best fits the workflow of the student body who will occupy this space.
