What are the principal advantages of creating a conceptual design model using masses before diving into the detailed design and building element modeling?

Because before a complete design drawing, one should first have a rough basic idea of the overall shape and size of the building, especially for large-scale projects such as skyscrapers and high-rise buildings. Using mass, it is quick and easy to make shapes for buildings of every possible design; they can then be stacked, rotated, cut, and joined to create new combined geometry. Visualizing a design at an early stage at the same time is not only a great way to explore different designs before diving into the details, but also saves time as it makes it easier to change the parameters of the concept and adjust the corresponding elements in the detailed model. This also allows designers to share their conceptual designs with stakeholders early on.

Can you think of any examples of a real building around the world that most likely was created by exploring the form using conceptual mass models?
