Module 5/6 - Building Layout & Circulation Systems
My concept for the art museum was to make the building as an artwork itself. The form resembles an infinity, and is similar to the waves that crash right on the shore in front of the museum.
I started off the plan with the bubble diagram as shown below, where the proximities and spaces were defined. Then, i added in the circulation elements :
A crucial aspect of the building is the segregation between the public and private areas, as some activities are too distinct. Based on this, I tried to group activities together, and looked at reducing interaction between the two.
Translating all this into plan, the following floor plans show a rough idea of what each floor constitutes.
