Point of View Statement

đź’ˇ
College students need effective strategies to regulate their closet spaces and resist the temptation of overconsumption. This need arises because they aspire to minimize their environmental footprint while simultaneously maximizing the utility and organization of their limited closet space.

The simplest version of this product that delivers value and meets the challenges of this POV statement will have these essential features:

  • assisting in organizing clothing swaps with people you know and trust
  • helps you know how many times you’ve worn an item or the last time you wore it
  • tells you when and where to donate clothing items
  • sustainable wardrobe certification
    • via your shopping habits (i.e where you shop, how often, classic pieces vs. mircotrends)
    • creates “hype” around sustainable practices in fashion
    • monetary incentive: with certification you get discounts @ certain stores

Colin’s Comment: Very interesting MVP. I can see this as a growth-oriented strategy using convenience and trust as primary motivators. I do see closet and clothing in the mix…if you had to pick a specific item to use for the swap for the prototype, what would that item be? Good opportunity to try some divergent-convergent thinking. Look in your closet and list everything you have, then choose 5 items that would probably do best in a swap setting. Then see if you could pick just one.
