Description
This design accentuates the open curtain wall concept that appealed from the owners’ sample house photos. This accentuation is further developed by the triple layering of the floors, neatly strung together with a spiral staircase. The bedrooms each have multiple windows, and the master quarters is on a separate floor to provide the heads of the family some alone time. At the same time, there are two primary family living spaces: one on the bottom floor which is more cooking and lounge-oriented and another on the second floor which is more oriented toward an office and work space. Both the bottom and middle floors have spacious bathrooms with tubs, and the top floor also features additional storage space for vacation equipment. Being built on a hillside which extends right up to the start of the second floor, it was important that windows and other spacious design strategies helped create an environment of openness and connection with the surrounding nature.
