Module 2 - Ripples on a Pond
Model Geometry:
Modeling Approach:
- To model the ripples on a pond from the drop of a pebble, I first created a grid that represented an array of points, which formed the base of which each cylinder was created upon.
- Next was modeling the pebble and choosing the coordinates of the location where we want to “drop” it.
- After which, I modelled the wave form using the sine wave function which took in the distance between the pebble and the respective cylinder as input to the sine wave. The height of the ripples could be adjusted as a number slider was used to adjust the height when required. To ensure that the cylinders could be properly generated in the Revit file, a wave base offset factor was chosen as a vertical offset so it is always greater than zero.
