- Commercial Energy efficient building
I am very drawn to low-carbon distributed power generation in urban systems. Distributed generation system in the urban system is the topic I worked on for my undergraduate research. Storage of the generated power created by photovoltaic curtain has been an issue because grid connection from unstable generation sources would potentially damage the power grid. Therefore, storage techniques, such as solar hydrogen production, would be a sustainable way to reach this goal. The control of smart grid will ultimately relieve the current pressure of urban electricity grids and gradually transfers the urban system into using clean energy. Following Examples are Building Integrated Photovoltaics.
- Residential Energy efficient building
Besides the commercial building that utilizes solar energy, residential housings can also widely use photovoltaic modules as power source for home.
- Sponge City
The sponge city is the urban area with abundant natural areas such as trees, lakes and parks for intention to absorb rain or other water and prevent flood. I am also interested in this natural-based solution for solving water problem of urban system.
- Forest Building
By combining the building with nature, such as plants and water, it optimizes the experience inside the building.
