Observations and thoughts:
Location: my balcony in Oak Creek Dr.
Observing a place for 30 minutes might sound boring at first, but after a while, the resistance decreases and I started noticing tiny details about my surroundings, becoming more focused and present.
- A girl in a sports outfit is heading toward the gym, or maybe the eucalyptus trail—I'm not sure. She has a tiny bag; she might just be going for a walk.
- Two women are walking their dogs. I didn't like one of the women; she is too aggressive with her gorgeous white German shepherd, hitting him on the nose with the leash because he didn’t want to follow her and was wandering in the bushes.
Meanwhile, I am still observing from my balcony. I really like the forest and the eucalyptus trail on the left, with a fence subdividing the creek from the road. Why is there a fence? For a safety reasons?
However, I am not really satisfied with the lawn. I have a feeling it could be used more wisely. During the summer, the lawn turns yellow, also it is watered in the morning and the area is too large. Part of the territory is occupied by wooden structures.
- There is a playground with no kids, I am wondering why? Why is it not attractive for residents with kids? Is there a solution to make this area more interesting?
- I see seven benches, and three of them are within five meters of each other. Is there a way to make them more stylish and engaging? Like adding some shades?
- Also, the circle in the middle puzzles me every morning. What happened there? Did they attempt to make a flower garden but give up, or is it evidence of an alien landing?
Problem Statement:
Large territory in a residential complex that is not used wisely and sustainable
Ideas:
I do not want to jump into solutions, but maybe
- a volleyball court
- or an outdoor gym
- [WIP] that would serve the residents of the Oak Creek community much better.
- And what is that yellow thing? Is it a water pipe? Could we build something like a fountain here?
