Your Design Journal entries this week should highlight your design thinking and process in modeling:
- your plumbing system elements
- your piping systems
- any special plumbing system challenges that you encountered and how you overcame them
I used standard plumbing system elements, screenshots of which are attached below.
The pipes that I used were of thickness 1” for Domestic Hot Water and Domestic Cold Water, and 4” for sanitary. The slope that I used for sanitary was 1/4” / 12”.
In terms of the placing of the pipes, I created a separate space to accommodate the three types of pipes
My difficulties involved navigating the layout and geometry of a circular system, misunderstandings with the architectural/plumbing model, and for some reason my floors are linked differently, the layout on left of my system shows as one level up, so I had to copy-paste accordingly
I am unable to connect the verticals among themselves, the circularness of the building is constantly causing a routing error and I don’t see why things can’t be connected. I rectified my errors of installing a restroom at the utility room areas by deleting them
