List your three or four guiding design goals using this format for each goal:
Goal 1: Using more Solar PV
- Measure: kilowatts
- Targets:
- 60% Reduction in Non-Renewable Energy Compared to Standard Model
- Strategies:
- Rotating the building so that it gets the most solar exposure at every hour.
- Roof or façade design to implement solar panels to gain more solar energy during the day
Goal 2: Efficient Energy Consumption
- Measure: Energy Use Intensity (EUI)
- Targets:
- Energy Star Median Source EUI for Other - Education: 110.4 kBtu/ft^2
- Strategies:
- Positioning windows to heat up building in the winter and avoid heating in summer. While providing natural light to reduce lighting energy consumption.
- Choosing to have an attic or cathedral roof to allow for more efficient cooling and heating.
Goal 3: Self sufficient and sustainable in water use
- Measure: Kg of waste water being disposed each month
- Targets:
- 50% reduction in waste water from standard building.
- Strategies:
- Maximizing the amount of green spaces for reuse of grey water. Having green spaces can be used as a garden for self-sufficiency.
- Building the shape to naturally capture rain water to guide to containment unit.
