Bubble Diagrams: These helped a great deal, especially as I adjusted throughout the process. There were lots of changes, and it helped working them out on the bubble diagrams first. Also, I realized I needed to add a fourth level, especially to gain square footage.

It seemed kind of obvious where the main entrance of my building would be, but after looking at the location on Google Earth (see image below) I confirmed where I wanted it. The entrance played a big role in how I laid out the space.
