Please share your design showing the features of the proposed building envelope, including the locations and characteristics of:

• Exterior Walls are Insulated Metal Panel (R35)
• Interior Walls are Basic Interior - 5” Partition (R15)
• All other walls (interior and exterior) are Storefront Glazing (R 0.846)
• Roof is also Storefront Glazing (R 0.846)
• Floors are concrete 6” thermal mass (R 0.82)

For 3 Units

The analysis took way longer than expected and yielded a pretty bad EUI.

I knew that the use of curtain walls for the entire exterior, including the roof, would create more energy demand. I didn’t realize how much, and even with the impactful adjustments above I wasn’t able to achieve my EUI goals. I may adjust my exterior wall structure, to use more conventional/resistant walls. I believe this would help a great deal.

For 4 Units

• Use one of the Daylight Analysis methods demonstrated to assess the daylighting levels available with your proposed building envelope design:
• I went with Option 2 here, considering three of my most important areas. I can see that I have some very high illuminance in all three areas. I chose a date in February at noon. I have to figure out some daylighting mitigation measures.
