Structural Framing Recommendations

I designed my structural model with a focus on strength and symmetry, opting for a steel beam system with W12x26 beams for primary support. To keep floor openings clear, I adjusted column placements, sometimes deviating from the original grid. The steel frame reduced the number of columns in rooms, keeping spaces open. While I avoided obstructing stairs, elevators, and atriums, some columns had to be placed near room edges for structural stability. Meeting the designer’s intent was challenging, as I had to balance support with an open layout.
