For my structural design I decided not to put any columns in the middle of rooms and rather tried to put every column where there was an interior or exterior wall. The dimensions of the building allowed for this because in canvas it said you can space columns by about 20 feet. For my beams I chose to use Steel W shaped W12X26 beams across all the columns and added beam systems everywhere. I was able to exclude the stairs from a beam system by creating grids around the stairs.
