  • A screenshot of an interior view of your merged model from Model Coordination showing the HVAC elements.
  • A brief paragraph discussing:
    • any challenges that you encountered in this supply duct routing exercise
    • whether your proposed design meets the project’s spatial design goals
    • any recommendations to make the design more sustainable (and lower the heating and cooling loads)

The routing process went relatively smooth. I used ducts of two sizes, 12x18 for higher volumes and 12x12 for lower volumne. They both have the same height and are put just below the beam. I believe my proposed design meets the project’s spatial design goals. The Actual Supply Airflow exceeds the Calculated Supply Airflow. Adding return ducts should also work well with the current routing and not adding crossovers. Placing ceiling to conceal is okay and the height would be about 9’ above the floor. Leaving the systems exposed also seems fine as the routing is not very messy. One improvement would be placing the supply diffusers lower to provide better flow and avoiding conflicts between beams and flex ducts.
