Design Journal Entry - Module 10

My building has a bathroom on each floor, from level 0 to level 5. This makes 6 stacked bathrooms with the same dimensions and plumbing/piping systems and elements.

• Plumbing system elements
• 2 ADA-sized stalls with wall-hung water closet
• 3 wall-hung urinals
• 4 wall-hung water closets
• 5 wall-hung lavatories

• Piping systems
• 4” Sanitary piping with 1/4” / ft slope
• 1” Hot and Cold water domestic piping
• Risers for each located behind interior wall inside bathroom

• Challenges
• Wrapping sanitary piping around the circumference of the bathroom while maintaining slope for gravity of system was difficult. Because the far wall from the risers needed to be connected with the sanitary pipe system because of the lavatories, I swung the sanitary piping around the corner and maintained the downwards slope.
