Your Design Journal entries this week should highlight your design thinking and process in modeling:
- your plumbing system elements
- My restrooms are stacked up 4 stories
- I added 3 toilets and 2 lavatories on each floor
- The washrooms are located back to back so I was able to put all of the plumbing in a gap between the two walls in
- your piping systems
- I created trunk lines for hot water, cold water, sanitary, greywater collection and greywater supply
- The hot and cold water lines connected into the lavatories at a higher elevation
- The greywater supply and reuse lines were located farther underground at a 1/4 inch slope per foot
- The greywater collection line was connected to the sanitary system the lavatories
- The greywater supply line was connected to the cold water system for the toilets
- any special plumbing system challenges that you encountered and how you overcame them
- The biggest challenges were connecting the lines in a way that made sense and where they weren’t obstructing one another. This took a lot of trial and error. Creating the greywater reuse system also took some time at first, but once it was all set up connecting it in actually was quite simple.
- I also had an issue where one toilet did not copy up all the levels so I had to manually go in and add it and reconnect the lines which was quite tedious, but I eventually completed.
