For my plumbing system, I needed to design 2 main layouts: level 1, and the template for the rest of the floors.
The biggest challenges I faced were finding appropriate sinks outside of the pre-downloaded revit library (I eventually found resources from our Canvas page), connecting fixtures to pipes, and making sure that there was enough room for connections to occur.
Once I created a level 2’s bathroom system, I copied it up 1:1 for floors 3-4. The layout was also the same for 5-6, but I had to move the system over slightly. In this process, I struggled with making sure that my sanitary system maintained a 1/4”/12” slope over the horizontal connections needed to keep the branch system consistent as the floor plans shifted.
Going forward, I need to further investigate how these horizontal sections conflict with my beams/HVAC.
