My power and lighting strategy was driven by the different program spaces on my first floor. I aimed to provide some independence for the gift shop and front lobby in terms of lighting control. Since these areas are located at the front of the building, keeping them illuminated at night may be beneficial for security purposes without requiring a full lighting load all night.
I located the four main light switches for the primary exhibition space in the utility room to be controlled by staff. I chose to have four zones in the primary space because, when daylight is abundant, I want the staff to be able to reduce the lighting load. Additionally, depending on the art displays in the space, they can select which zones will best illuminate the area.
My biggest challenge was conducting the analysis at the end, as some of the tutorials were from an earlier version of Revit. However, I was able to complete the illuminance renders, which allowed me to fill out the space schedule table.
