Your Design Journal entries this week should highlight your design thinking and process in modeling:
- your power system elements
- your lighting system elements
Power System Elements
Outlet Placement: Since this is an office space, I ensured there were ample outlets to accommodate various office equipment, computers, and peripherals. Outlets were strategically placed along walls that are not part of the façade or elevator well to avoid structural and installation issues.
Mechanical Rooms: Special attention was given to placing outlets in mechanical rooms for essential equipment.
Industrial-Grade Power Panels: Used for handling the electrical load requirements efficiently.
Lighting System Elements
Recessed Lighting Fixtures: I primarily used rectangular office lighting, with a mix of 2x4 and 1x4 fixtures to provide even illumination.
Density Consideration: One of the biggest challenges was ensuring that lighting was distributed efficiently across the office without excessive clustering.
Switches and Controls: Light switches were placed in accessible locations while ensuring convenience for different office zones.
