Your Design Journal entries this week should highlight your design thinking and process in modeling:
- your power system elements
- your lighting system elements
This week, I focused on modeling the building's power and lighting systems, carefully ensuring that these elements integrated seamlessly with the architectural design. I made sure that the layout of the power outlets and lighting fixtures did not conflict with the glass walls at the front of the building, maintaining the clean aesthetic of the façade. Due to the complexities of the HVAC system on the ceiling, I opted for wall-mounted light fixtures to provide adequate illumination without interfering with the ceiling’s design. In addition to optimizing light distribution, I spaced the power outlets according to the latest ADA standards to enhance accessibility and functionality. This approach allowed me to balance technical requirements with design integrity, ultimately creating a cohesive environment that respects both form and function.
