Design Inspiration: My design inspirations are from the He Art Museum located in Shude, Foshan, China. It has a lot of circle elements in this building and allows the natural lights to reduce the energy consumption for lighting. I think circle elements are a symbol of unity and also have an aesthetic appearance.
Big Design Ideas: For my design, I want to have the circle elements in my building, maximize the natural lights, and also implement a sustainable and biophilic design to make a comfortable, safe and efficient building.
Innovative Building / System Features: The He Art Museum uses concrete as the main material. Considering sustainability, for my design, I prefer to use wood. Wood is a sustainable material and is also great for biophilic design since it's from nature. Similar to the pictures shown below, wood will be the main structural element while still having a lot of circle elements and increasing utilization of natural light to save energy. Also, I will pay attention to the HVAC system in my design to reduce overall energy consumption. For example, the rooftop PV system is considered to implement in my design.
