I found this plumbing exercise fairly straightforward with the guidance from Glenn’s kickoff session. The mirror and copy-to-selected-level tools were extremeley helpful and can greatly speed up the design process for plumbing. The main challenge I ran into when doing this exercise was connecting the sewer branch into the main riser. As mentioned in the kickoff session, sometimes the auto-connect tool is a little finnicky, so I found that if I tried connecting the sewer branch into the riser using the section view, it didn’t work, but if I used the floor plan view, then it did work. Not a big deal, but something I’ll keep in mind when designing the plumbing system for my own building.
And lastly, although not a challenge, it’s apparent from my BIM 360 screenshot that a column is right behind a urinal. This will be a problem, so I will definitely have to ensure there is proper spacing in between my structural elements, walls, and plumbing elements as I complete module 10. Overall though, this was a fun exercise!
