Description
My field research station is an L shaped building constructed on a 6” concrete slab with 2x6 studs. The roof was made up of 2x8 rafters as the spans allowed for smaller members. The layout of the building is composed of a meeting area with a whiteboard on the south-west side of the building, a storage area on the northwest side and a bathroom adjacent to the storage area. The main working area is located on the east side of the building with 4 working stations and a lab bench with a sink. The common area where the meeting area is located has access to all other parts of the building. The south side of the building has 3 large and 3 medium sized windows for ample sunlight. The sloped roof also provides a good place for mounting solar panels.
