Description

This structural model is a continuation from the conceptual design of a commercial building created in Module 6. The model presents the preliminary structural framing system needed for the structure. The framing system includes column and beam layouts for each level that follow the prescribed grid line pattern. In addition, structural elements including shear walls and braces needed for the lateral resisting system can be found around all of the stairwell shafts. Level 1 includes a structural 8-inch concrete floor and foundation system including slabs, isolated footings, and wall footings. For all other levels, a structural flooring system of lightweight concrete and medal decking is used.

Using BIM 360 Model Coordination

  1. Upload your architectural and structural models to your folder on BIM 360 Documents, then copy them into the subfolder named Coordination Space.
  2. Switch to the Model Coordination tool.
  3. Create a new View that merges a 3D view from both your architectural and structural models.
