One of my main priorities in this design was natural light. I wanted to have a large curtain wall on the second floor that would let light into the entire house. This also affected my construction of the second floor, which only covers part of the first floor. This means that the kitchen/gathering area on the first floor has very high ceilings and lots of natural light.
A challenging aspect of this design was working with the topo solid. I had trouble coming up with design choices that looked natural but still maintained structural integrity, using concrete to hold back the surrounding dirt layer.
In the future, I am hoping to experiment more with roofs. I have mostly used simple roofs so far, choosing to focus on other parts of my design, but I am excited to learn how to be more creative with them.
