Description
The project above is the structural frame of a 12-story building. The building is made up of steel and has chevron braces for more architectural accessibility. The chevron braces are placed on each side of the building thus resisting lateral loads from every orthogonal direction. The structure uses bays made up of girders and beams in-between. Girders were spaced at approximately 24 to 27 feet and beams at 8 to 9 feet. The framing also takes into account the stair shafts of the building. The building uses square footings at the bottom of each column for an effective load transfer to the ground.
