- Rather than embedding a single link to ACC in the field above, embed the links to each of submission items in the text of your description below.
Images of My Analysis Results
Please paste two screenshots here, based on the options you chose to complete:
- For Option 1, paste a screenshot of the Benchmark Comparison Graph showing the overall prediction for the energy use given the settings selected.
- For Option 2, paste a screenshot showing the ending point of your 4D simulation.
Option 1: Building Performance Analysis
Upload your brief one-page summary of your recommended settings to reach your building performance goal to ACC Docs, then embed a public link here.
Be sure to include your recommendations for the top 10 most important factors (excluding HVAC). For each of the factors:
- Take a screenshot showing the range of values that you selected to be included in the analysis.
- Briefly explain (in a sentence or two) why you’ve narrowed the range down to the values selected.
In the energy analysis option I found the most important way to reduce carbon is the way yoou build. In my case my building was in AZ and in AZ it is very hot. Cooling systems make up for the most amount of carbon when building in AZ and it makes sense. At first I had my building with glass all around the upper areas of my building and I decided to switch the walls in the east and west sides of building to avoid the sun shining directly in. This minimized the cooling need and reduced my carbon footprint significantly. The other things I did was take the insulation out of the walls. There is no need for insulation when it is that hot outside al of the time it is just a waste of materials and bad for the environment. I also turned the hours of the day that people were in the building which seemed to bring down the carbon as well. These were the main two things I did as I did not have access to the “insight” feature that was shown in the module 9 videos. I soley had to rely on energy settings and my building features.
Option 3: Model-Based Estimating
Upload your summary report presenting your estimate for the major structural elements in your model to ACC Docs, then embed a public link here.
