Description

The proposed concept is a bamboo shoot/sliced tube shape, created by joining masses of cylinders and a triangular prism. The bottom two floors are intact throughout, the radial floorplan was chosen to reduce distance and corners that obstruct the walking path. The hollow circular cutout starts on Level 3, where there's an outdoor courtyard/patio space.

The south-facing (direct sun) faces of the building are installed with a curtain system, and the faces in the shade use concrete masonry for contrast and some privacy. Some engineering problems will include differential settlement due to the asymmetric weight and reducing sun glare both inside and outwards to the neighborhood. And some floor space will be lost due to the slanted roof (resulting in less than the mass floor schedule).
