A simple rectangular shape is employed for the field station design. It encompasses 504 sq ft of interior space that includes four workstations, a collaborate work area, an instrumentation area, an 81 sq ft storage room, and an ADA compliant bathroom. The south wall is formed mostly of large windows to allow for ample sunlight to brighten the interior during the day. The roof has railings attached into the framing to provide for the secure support for the installation of photovoltaic cells. The instrumentation table sink, the bathroom sink, and toilet are placed along a shared wall in order to simplify the necessary plumbing. The floor plan includes sufficient space for the movement of those requiring mobility assistance.
