Description

This designed lab has many different types of windows catering to the function of the rooms/spaces they serve. For example, the storage room is intentionally placed on the North side of the research site with narrow window that can be blocked off to minimize sunlight if needed to better preserve the samples/agents in the storage. The south facing general lab is filled with windows by the working desk as well as the meeting table, with a special semis-circle design to reduce the cubic dullness of the space. The meeting table is also accompanied by a large double glass door which can serve as great entrance for natural lighting, enhancing the work environment. The research station can also add a patio extending from the semi-circle room, and have the door open on days with good weather to extend the sense of the physical lab room. There’s also an interior window on the wall between the storage room and the lab bench, allowing for monitoring of both spaces without having to physically travel back and forth.
