Your Recommendation for the “Best” Design Option

Compared to proposal 1, the structure will have more sunlight, mostly due to the different heights and shapes of the model. Proposal 1 has an indent that is targeted towards being a private outdoor space for potential users, but it also receives very minimal light when the sun is at its peak. Proposal 2 and 3 both have a better daylight potential. As for solar energy comparison, proposal 1 has the most standardized potential due to the flat roof. The other two proposals have structures of varying heights which will block each other and cast shadows on parts of the building with lower roofs. For the simplicity, proposal 1 is chosen. The structure could eliminate the shadowed areas by altering heights of certain portions of the building.
