Your Recommendation for the “Best” Design Option

Proposal 2 was chosen as the best design option. While Proposal 3 has the most interesting geometry, this unique geometry causes a lot of variation within the building area. For instance, in the sun hours analysis, we can see that the staggered levels of Proposal 2 allow for a more uniform distribution of the sunlight over different levels, rather than having all the sunlight hit the roof level or having areas with very little sun exposure. Also, in the solar energy analysis, we can see that Proposal 2 could generate more electricity from solar energy. Proposal 2 could hold an average of 140 kWh/sq ft., which could make the building very energy efficient. Since the microclimate analysis seems pretty comparable between the proposals, Proposal 2 seems to have an edge over Proposals 1 and 3.
