Image of My Model
Description
The architect, Modula Síx, was very ambitious in her design that separated the outdoor spaces of TwitBook’s new Phoenix headquarters across a mix of private and public spaces over 4 floors. The structural architect, Mod-julius Sevan, was not happy with this challenge and suggests a new design: one that repeats the same floor plan of Modula’s initial first floor, copied onto the 2nd and 3rd floor plans. Instead of small, dispersed patio spaces, the structural engineer hopes that the 4th floor can be converted into an open-air “mega patio” for all TwitBook employees to enjoy and collaborate on with unobstructed, panoramic views of the Phoenix skyline and Camelback Mountain. In the model coordination, you can see where Modula’s and Mod-julius’ designs clash. You can also see where they agree, such as the E-shaped form/mass of the building.
