Plumbing System Elements:

For my rock climbing center, there are two main areas for plumbing on the first floor and only one small area for the second floor. The first floor has two locker rooms, one for women and one for men. Each locker room has a shower area with equipped showers, a changing room area that will also have lockers, and a bathroom area including toilets and sinks. I realized that not having a bathroom on the second floor of a very large facility would be unrealistic, so I added a small, two-stall bathroom in between the café and the workout room along with a sink as well. Here are photos of the types of fixtures shown below.

Piping Systems:

For the piping systems, I mainly focused on the domestic hot water, domestic cold water, and sanitary lines. For the toilets, the only pipes needed to connect were the cold water and sanitary lines. For the sinks, all three piping systems needed to connect. Additionally, all three lines needed to connect to the showers as well. The sanitary line had a diameter of roughly four inches while the hot and cold water lines had one-inch diameters.

Challenges:

The main challenge that I faced with this module is having enough space in between my walls to have the pipes run through. Therefore, I had to continuously update my architectural model. Additionally, because of the shape of my building, the lines were not straight connections to the trunks, but had to be connected several times. Another challenge was that because my building is very large, the slope and offset of the connecting pipes was very hard to determine and took some time.
