Paste screenshots of your model geometry here showing your parametric building forms flexed with different input values:

  • For 2 units: Part 1 only - one of the provided building forms
  • For 3 or 4 units: Part 1 and Part 2 - your original building form

Description

This building model includes two twisting forms, whose parameter are tested for evaluation of the final design. Both forms are set up in a way that meet the building geometry requirements. In the Revit model, 122 mass floors are defined to divide the mass element for computing the gross floor area. To flex the form's parameters, a range of input parameter values is entered in dynamo for testing. The existing custom node "BuildingForm.EvaluatePairsOfInputs" is modified so that it can take the input value for "building height" and "top rotation" and returns the computed output value for "gross floor area", "gross surface area" and "gross volume". Those results are then saved in excel file using the node "Data.ExportExcel". To find out which combination case gives the largest and smallest floor area, the output results are passed to "List.MinimumItemByKey" and "List. MaximumItemByKey" to report the critical combination case.

More information for Part I and Part II is shown below:

Part I: use example form provided-"twisting rectangular mass"

testing range for top height: 530..600..30

testing range for top rotation: 40..60..10

parameter relationship: base width=top width+30'; base length=top length+30'

Part II: created a new conceptual mass and imported it to a twisting template family in Revit

generated a new building form and imported it to the Part I Revit model

testing range for top height: 650..750..50

testing range for top rotation: 5..55..25

parameter relationship: mid width=base width-200'; top width=base width-100'
