Then, describe your design inspirations and big feature ideas using text, images, web links, movies... Whatever media works best to express your ideas!
BIG ideas:
Integration of nature- blurring between indoor and outdoor spaces. This includes the elements like rain, sun, flowing water, wind in some cases, and plants.
An exhibition space as a framework for a multitude of ideas. As a means to tell stories.
I am most drawn to spaces that have been repurposed from warehouses, train stations, etc. That atmosphere is impossible to recreate when building new, but I am interested in picking at the things that I like about spaces like that.
Architectural features that I’m interested in:
Gradual rise in height, half levels connecting to each other.
Indoor sweeping balconies
Membrane-like walls
Weeping willow
Sustainability Goals:
Solar panels on available spaces.
As little use of electronically powered heating and cooling systems.
Many integrated outdoor indoor spaces that don’t require temperature mediation.
Natural lighting- opening and closing windows that adjust with the time of day and season.
Pollinator gardens.
For me, sustainability means more than ecological sustainability- I want to focus on how a public space can vitalize and sustain the culture, spirit, and engagement of the communities it joins.
