Module 3 - Give Me Shelter
Model Geometry
Modeling Approach
- Concept for a station canopy or shelter with options to be supported on columns or arches.
- Model developed with Revit geometry points of three curves from a conceptual mass family.
- The extracted Revit geometry of the mid-portion of the structure is replaced with a sine wave.
- The Sine curve mid-portion of the structure and number of ribs can be used to flex and dynamically change the canopy. However, the imported Revit geometry of the two other curves limits the parametric changes to the structure.
Design Parameters
- Select model element node used to import reference points.
- List Create used to list reference points and curves created using the CurveByPoints and CurveElement nodes.
- A Sine wave developed with converted Z values, input sliders and code blocks for the number of waves, points and wave amplitude.
- NubsCurve and curve nodes used to generate curves.
- Curve panel and rib placement points generated using a code block and the Curve.PointAtParameter node for the number of ribs/panels.
- Curtain wall patterns developed using the List.TakeEveryNthItem node from the grouped points for the adaptive panel components
- The AdaptiveComponent and Family types nodes used to place the adaptive panels and ribs.
