Building System and Biological Analogies

One analogy that I can draw from nature is “modular repetition”. Take the beehive for example, we often find similarly in building structures that modular spaces stacked and coordinated around one another ease collaboration. Also with a modular space it becomes easier to construct repeatedly.

Below I’ve included one of my favorite buildings, the Cambridge Central Mosque but I still have yet to visit in person. Nonetheless, the buildings columns have the form of trees and together create a canopy affect. Also, with the material choice of Cross Laminated Timber or CLT, the columns ARE trees technically.
