Step 1 - Generative Design Framework

The design decisions I decided to focus on involved estimated material cost, obstruction of view and number of seats.

Step 2 - Generative Design Study

  • Maximizing the potential of seats was my main goal while also ensuring the space was cost efficient. In consideration of the program, I did not want the amphitheater to feel overwhelming or too exposed. For these reasons, factors like incline and curvature remained constant. That allowed for obstruction of view and overall surface area to be manipulated depending on the desired number of seats. The best decision was to choose an amphitheater of 1,398 seats for a cost of $495,844.
