- Mini-Proposal:
- Our team is dedicated to fostering innovation and creativity in workspaces. We will design a dynamic and sustainable office environment at Stanford University, aimed at sparking creativity and collaboration among students and staff. Our personal connection to this project comes from our own experiences in various work environments and understanding the importance of an inspiring workspace. We will integrate eco-friendly materials and energy-efficient solutions to create a sustainable and stimulating office.
- Work Plan:
- Project Management Practice - Make a table of action items, deliverables, start & completion dates, & who will have primary responsibility for driving & delivering. The header action items should include each of the design thinking components in our process; list specific tasks as sub-items.
Example:
Team Work Plan
Start | End | Action Item | Deliverable | Assigned To |
24/7/24 | 29/7/24 | Observation, surveys, requirements definition | Requirments list
29/7/24 | CCPs and POVs, features | CCPs and POVs, features | @Rawda Al Jneibi
29/7/24 | Prototype | Prototype | @Lati |
- Investigate the optimal conditions for each aspect
- Research and interview for office requirements
- Develop solutions concepts
- Prototype development (show several pictures in front of people and ask which is favorite.
=Doing A/B test for each feature. using AI image generation. )

〈Element of offices〉
・Space/layout design:
- Material: Use sustainable materials like recycled wood and bamboo.
- Open Space: Implement modular furniture and flexible workstations.
・Light:
- Natural Light: Maximize natural light with large windows and skylights.
- Adjustable Lighting: Implement adjustable LED lighting with options for changing intensity and color temperature. Include task lighting at individual workstations.
・Sound
- Water Fountains: Install to provide calming ambient sounds.
- Ambient Music: Use instrumental or classical music to enhance creativity.
- Acoustic Treatments: Apply sound-absorbing materials to manage noise.
・Equipment/Furniture: Nature, personalization, exercise)
- Nature: Add indoor plants and natural materials.
- Personalization: Allow customization of workspaces.
- Exercise: Include ergonomic furniture and spaces for physical activities.
・Color:
- Light Yellow: Use to create a warm, energizing environment
- Blue promotes calmness, focus, creativity, and trust, making it ideal for a balanced office design.
【Requirements for office】
- Inspiration: Incorporate design elements that stimulate creativity and provide a dynamic, engaging environment.
- Social Spaces: Create areas that encourage social interaction and networking, such as lounges, cafes, or game rooms.
- Interactive Tools: Provide tools such as interactive whiteboards, projectors, and video conferencing equipment to facilitate seamless communication and collaboration.
- Collaborative Spaces: Create environments that encourage teamwork, such as brainstorming rooms, innovation labs, and open meeting areas.
- Unique Furniture: Use unconventional and eye-catching furniture pieces that double as conversation starters and creative stimuli.
- Creative Labs: Set up dedicated areas for experimenting with new ideas, prototypes, or creative projects.
- Creative Lighting: Implement dynamic lighting that changes color or intensity based on the time of day or the type of work being done.
【Solution】
creativity, use recycled and reclaimed materials for furniture and finishes, and integrate flexible, modular layouts with ergonomic and adjustable furniture. Maximize natural light through large windows and skylights, complemented by dynamic LED lighting with customizable color temperatures. Manage acoustics with sound-absorbing materials and soothing ambient sounds like water features or instrumental music. Incorporate indoor plants and natural elements to enhance the environment, while allowing personal touches in workspaces. Create dynamic social and collaborative spaces, such as lounges, cafes, and innovation labs, with interactive tools like whiteboards and projectors. Use unconventional and eye-catching furniture pieces to stimulate conversation and creativity, and implement adaptive lighting systems that adjust based on the time of day or type of work.
【Mini-proposal】
Have you worked in a office like the below? This is the office of Google here in Calfornia. As you know, office environments are influencing our creativity for better or worse. The office below include many scientifically tested design efforts to enhance workers creativity, such as the green plant wall and blue and yellow oriented clour.
In contrast, too many companies still have offices like below. What is lacking here is a easiest design efforts to enhance the worker’s creativity. Too many office environment hinders the worker’s creativity. Some may argue that offices that foster creativity requires too much money. However in many cases, there are much design opportunities to change your office to places for creativity without much costs in a sustanable way. We identify and propose the design efforts.
