Your Recommendation for the “Best” Design Option
For my project I choose to build three simple structures in Brazil. For my three designs I decided to make three completely different looking structures so that I had a few different options to choose from. For my first design I decided to make it a dome like structure. It has thee layers of three cylinders with three domes on top of each other. I think this design is the most visually appealing. For my second design I made a simple rectangular structure with different angles for each wall of the building. I think this design is very simple however I want my building to look modern and simple seems to be more modern. For my third design I chose to build a V shaped building.
In my analysis I decided to look at sun hours and solar energy potential. In the analysis, the sun did not really change throughout my buildings. The sun stayed pretty constant throughout the three and I believe this is because the buildings are relatively similar in height and the surrounding buildings are constant throughout the three designs. The solar energy potential however was best in my design two. Design one was right behind design two and design three was the worst when it came to solar energy.
For my project I would like to continue with my design 1. Although the solar energy was marginally better in design two, I think the asthetics of design one are a lot better and cancel out the increased solar potential of design two. Although solar and clean energy are at the forefront of my design journey, proposal two is not the way I want my final building too look.
