What did you observe?
What did you observe and note as you watched users interact with your prototypes?
- People had questions about efficiency
- Some were hesitant about buying this product as it hasn’t established its luxury status or reputation yet
- Most people loved the idea and the approach to it
What feedback did your users share after the testing?
What feedback did your users share after they've had a chance to interact with and explore your prototypes?
- Not a lot of open parking spaces (wealthy people often have garages), where will the charging happen? [my response to this is that people often park outside/on the street in India]. Also, with the amount of traffic, there is a lot of sun exposure even when not parked.
- Implement technology that uses tyre turning to charge
- Beware of rainy areas
- Competition with other brands (high barrier to entry)
- Efficiency
- Price not very high, but that may be good for some markets
- Target younger age groups
- Consider third party solar (not producing cars, but a service that attaches solar panels to existing cars) [my response to this is: while this could be done, it is more difficult to get people to buy and attach the solar panels since it is viewed as an extra cost, rather than an included feature in an already great car. By selling the car as a great independent product, we encourage more sustainable behaviour by the use of solar power]
- 60,000 would be a good price (but does it include all options?) [No. But the car is already packed with technology and there are only a few options/upgrades that bump up the price by around 2,000 to 5,000 dollars]
- Only HUD + large screen is okay
- Would prefer a lot of range [20 miles is enough for most people’s short distance and daily commute. More than this is difficult due to the current efficiency ratings of solar cells]
