Journal Entry For
Module 7 - Building Envelope Systems
I updated my model use type and building design. Instead of a transit center I am modeling a transit museum I opted for this change because I decided that modeling transit platforms and way-finding was outside the scope of this project. I debated to skip these details but thought that would be a disservice to myself so I instead opted to model a transit museum. The sheet plans in my ACC model outline this and are also seen below.

- BIM Operating Schedule: Between 12/7 & 12/5. The BIM operating schedule prevents me from succeeding an EUI at or below Architecture 2030.
- I opted to not change & WWRs because bold windows were key in my design. This also prevented me from reaching 2030. However, the BIM setting of windows type was consistently the top performer
- Besides the WWR & Operating schedule (BIM) I changed the rest of the settings to be the most efficient.
- The HVAC (ASHRAE Package Heat Pump lead to a drastic decrease in EUI), additionally lighting/plug efficiency. Because my building envelope is so window heavy I assume that is why the impact of wall construction was minimal.
