Description
This design creates an extension to the Y2E2 building. The first floor features curtain walls on two sides, open work space for students and faculty, and a Makers Lab with room for heavy machinery and additional work space. The second floor contains more private group study rooms as well as a gallery for displaying student art or projects. The third floor is an open terrace with a cafe and open seating for eating or hanging out. All three levels connect to the main Y2E2 building. As design alternatives, the first floor could have a stone wall with windows instead of the curtain walls, the second floor could have a more walls allocated to the gallery, allowing for more art/projects to be displayed, the third floor could take some of the space for tables and replace it with workout equipment so students can get a quick pump going in between classes.
