Prototyping Goals
- To test whether the construction of the bus station will prompt tourists to use the buses.
- To learn what other features can be included or modified to make the experience of waiting for the bus better for the tourists.
Prototype Features
Feature 1: noticeability
This feature will be tested because the main purpose of constructing a bus station is to make the original bus stops more obvious for the tourists. From testing this prototype, the team hopes to learn whether the current design of the station will be noticeable by tourists.
- Another factor is whether the station merges well with the current style of Stanford buildings
Feature 2: electric shared bikes
This feature will be tested as it extends the target community from tourists to students (and other community members) to be more sustainable in their daily travel. From this feature, the team hopes to learn whether this feature can prompt more people to travel sustainably.
Feature 3: digital display (multiple)
This feature will be tested because many people actually don’t know where the bus will go around campus and what can be seen around that stop. Therefore, this feature will support that aspect and help tourists learn more about the bus route as well as information about campus.
Prototype Media
Our group will create and present a sketch of what we want our bus station to look like. At the current stage, we only need something simple that explains the concept.
